In Luke 15, Jesus tells the story of a disappointing son. He's selfish. He's greedy. He's besmirched the family name. When he sees his father again, his father throws ... a punch? No; a party!
Here's the father explaining his response to the prodigal's older brother. It's Luke 15.4 (TNIV):
"But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!"If you've blown it, and you're avoiding your Heavenly Father, don't! The only thing that would disappoint him is if you stayed away.
We'd disappoint ourselves a lot less if every time we blew it, we ran into the arms of our forgiving Heavenly Father. He celebrates every single returning son.
